R60/R61 Stock Problems/IssuesDiscussions related to warranty related issues and repairs, or other problems with the OEM parts and software for R60 AND R61 MINI Cooper and Cooper S MINIs.
2013 Mini cooper countryman all4 S. I was driving down the road and there was a loud bang. Rear driverside is now lower. Took a look underneath and I believe holder for spring is broken? Wondering what parts I need exactly, and if no "special" tools are required. I have 89000 miles so I plan on changing both of the rear shocks to the HDs and would like to replace anything that may be worn or corroded (boots, bushings, etc) first mini i've owned so I don't know what to expect. Any help is greatly appreciated
Local shop managed to find only one manufacturer who made the quick strut assembly. Otherwise you'll have to go to a dealer. Getting a pair of em for just over $500
I know this is an older thread, but looking for a set of the obscure struts that you managed to find. I have a 2012 mini Countryman S ALL4 and have been looking everywhere for quickstruts since I broke a spring the other day.
Would really appreciate it if you could post where you got those struts from.
Thanks

Provably too late by now, but the quickstruts they found didn't fit. That was a headache and a half with the refund. I ended up buying all new bilstein shocks and struts since they were all about due and then bought some eibach springs. They were the best I could find with minimal lowering. Borrowed a spring compressor and set em up myself reusing all the hardware from the originals.
The little bump stops just needed the top nub cut off to account for the 1" drop from the new springs.
Careful with the rears, the lower mounting bolt is steel and goes into an aluminum housing (dumbest thing ever) so you don't want to Overtighten and strip em.
If you're not mechanically inclined, I'd just buy the shocks/struts and springs and find a shop to put them on for you, otherwise it's to the dealer for OEM
