R60 Driver Side Outer CV Boot - Automatic

Hi everyone,

What is the best place to get a replacement 2014 R60 Outer Driver Side - Automatic CV replacement boot/kit from? Found some REALLY expensive stuff, but wondering if anyone has a good and reasonable source they are satisfied with?

No one replaces their CV boots on a 2014 R60? Mini dealer is the only option?

here you go, for right now its just genuine. The interior and exterior kit. I dont see any aftermarket.

Grease is separate, its like 2 packs per axle. : https://www.realoem.com/bmw/enUS/sho...09#31609806467

Thank you. I had actually checked your site and found the boots (oem) and it just kills me that these are more pricey than I can get an entirely rebuilt axle for less than $100... Wonder where they get their boots from?

Welcome, sorry thats all they have right now. For that cost possible Taiwan and they might be universal boots that you find the closest size to.

Update: So I ordered the MINI kit. Super expensive boots (ridiculous to me). I received the MINI kit in the mail (inner/outer). Turns out you have to do the inner to get to the outer...

My inner was just fine and the outer one had a slight tear at the big end of the clamp. I suspect it was like this from the factory. Workmanship issue. Anyway, the goop inside both joints was pretty runny. Hence, why even with a small cut near the big end of the clamp it sprayed lube juice all over the place and made a big mess yet could hardly find where it was even coming from!

Unfortunately, the MINI factory kit was missing the CV grease I realized when I went to button up the unit. That sucked so I had to run out and source the CV joint grease $1.99 x 2 to complete it... Two special clamp crimping tools as well.

I was originally planning to do the boot on the car because of horror stories out there about stuck shafts in the trans. With a friends help, I was able to leverage and get it popped out so I could do on the bench. No rust in there luckily to make popping the shaft out difficult/impossible.

t went back in fine and should be good to go now.

Thanks for the update, yep i mentioned above the CV grease is separate, on most MINI kits they include it but for some reason on the R60/R61 platforms they dont. Glad you were able to get it fixed.
