Exclamation R60 Countryman

Wanted to give everyone a heads up. My wife's 2011 Countryman was driven and parked on a Friday then on Wednesday she went out to go to town and the car would not crank. I'm thinking Battery or Alternator the car would turn over but not crank i had it towed to one shop and they told me it had a bunch of codes but could not pin point the problem, so I towed it to a import shop and come to find out I get the worse news water had leaked into the car and splashed up and shorted out the junction box. Lucky enough I had full coverage. They will pay for the repair but not the cause of the problem. $3,042.92 minus my deductible $2,540.92 they have to replace the junction box, new carpet and 27 contacts. Still unsure of the cause but if the sunroof drains are clogged it will cost $120-$250 to do that but will update post once I find out what caused it. My wife had also experienced several times that the car shut down and said loss of power so I think with water getting in there that was the root of the problem.

I’m thinking they are talking about the fuse panel

I was thinking either that or the footwell module... If it is the FRM, the OP may want to contact a dealership first because of the warranty extension on it. OP you may not have to pay for it, they extended the warranty on the footwell module, 10 years or 120k miles. Its worth checking into, for sure.... its just a quick phone call and give them your VIN.

I agree with the footwell module. Went thru a similar issue about 4 yrs ago and that was the part they had to replace.

Wondering if this could be the cause of the intermittent stumble/hesitation. Last week I drove the car and it was fine, was ready to sell the POS before something else happens, but just drove it today and the stumble is back. The only thing that changed was the weather.

Where is this part located, I will check it out to see if it has moisture in it.

My problem was the sunroof drains were clogged and allowed water to get into the car and splashed water up on the fuse panel on the passenger side footwell and shorted it out

+1 check the roof drains also, i clean mine out, sometimes they get junk in them from pine needles and such or the drain pops off. It happens if you park outside all the time and under trees.
