'12 R60 about to impact crude oil prices

Hello - I have just developed a strange issue....

Car has been fine since new... One day last week before a long trip - I changed the oil...
Left the house - went a mile to stop sign... oil light flickered for a second and I figured "whatever" I just did an oil change, maybe it was a bubble (that hasn't come on since)
I gassed up by the highway - got on the highway... And laid down a blue fog bank for 60 yards or so....... (said to myself WT#) and started to coast...... yellow engine light came on - stumbled a bit - limped to home from there....

There was that one time I "slightly" overfilled the oil - 2 changes ago - so when reading about something similar - all signs pointed to replacing the valve cover (needs a new PCV valve I thought). Once that was replaced - I checked the oil level and it was down almost 2 quarts from the change (2 quarts in about 8 miles of driving!!). The plugs looked bad - so I sprang for new ones.... Started great, ran great for 50 yards and laid down a puff once the turbo pressure built up. It suddenly dawned on me that I have 2 quarts of oil (maybe) from the turbo inlet all the way to the tailpipe and more work was necessary....

I took the car apart and cleaned out the intercooler and all the pipes (there was at least half a quart in the intercooler....). Ran it yesterday for 50 miles and no issues at all.....

Today I get in and the yellow engine light is on from startup rough idle - power seems fine once it's moving but that light stays on.... I checked the oil level and it's going down again....

So my thinking now is I have a bad oil filter.... All this started after an oil change.... But my question is - What would cause that much oil to enter the inlet "system". Any thoughts?

did you damage the bypass or drainback valves when you changed the filter?

Thanks so much for the response!

I'd say its possible(?)
I put another oil filter in yesterday. The one I took out seemed 1/2 longer than the new one - and was warped on the end where it would touch one of those valves.
It's running/starting better - and the half power light isn't coming on at all now. But I'm still losing oil someplace into the induction...

Would blocking those cause a pressure spike into the turbo seals?

can't help you with that question, just know from reading posts for 6+ years that bad things happen when those valves get broken
