New Guy! with a problem
Hey everyone! Im a first time Mini owner and i need some help. Not sure if this is the right thread so let me know if i need to go to a different one. Just bought a 2011 countryman s all4. has 60k miles, and ive put about 500 of those on. My wife took it on a trip and when she got to the destination the engine light came on and the engine started to misfire. She got it home and i hooked up the scanner found misfires on #2 primarily. Changed the spark plugs, put good fuel in and everything cleared up. this morning she said it was acting up again. I do recall something to do with the fuel pressure on the scanner but it only had 1 ping on the codes. Any advice would be appreciated.
I am going to merge this with you post in the 1st Gear area as it is already getting some responses.
And welcome to NAM.

UPDATE! so i put the scanner on it last night and I had 2 engine codes. both were a low fuel pressure and 1 had a cold start addition to it. Also the wife told me ( and i also duplicated it in the drive way) when the engine starts acting up like its misfiring if you shut it of and turn it back on it goes away. Ill also add that it makes an rattling like noise from the driver side of the engine while its acting up. at first i thought maybe the A/C compressor was taking a crap but it doesn't change when i turn the A/C off.
Could be the HPFP. But like mentioned the first thing I would do is put in new plugs and coil packs. Since you are new, here is a tip that I had to learn the hard way, don’t buy cheap parts!!! OEM plugs and coils ONLY! If not you will probably suffer from misfires.
Definately swap the one that says is misfiring with the one next to it, then Drive it and see if the miss moved, if it did, you need a new coil, it’s that easy.
hint #2 you can buy OEM coils from Delphi, same part # as came on the car but without the “MINI” logo.....for a LOT less!
Welcome and let us know how it turns out
