2015 R60 Scavenge Air Line

Hi,
I had a check engine light come on after a gas cap error while driving. The engine light never went away and I went to the local CO dealer.

They diagnosed it as a hole in the Scavenge Air Line #16119810956. I saw the hole and it is small. They want over $400 to replace that line, and I am thinking that I can just gorilla tape over that tiny puncture.

Also, there is a hole in the cover over the carbon fuel cannister in the rear of the car. I was also thinking that I can tape patch that hole.

What does this Scavenge air line do, and is it a lot of vacuum? Do you think that I can just tape the hole over?

I saw that I can buy that hose myself for around $40 online, saving over $360 if I do it myself. Is it a big project?

Thanks so much for your advice in advance!

Cheers,
Stephan

Holes? Do you have rodent issues? It is a nearly new car so I'd suspect something going on. Buy some plastic repair epoxy and cover the hole, then tape.

btw - are you out of warranty?

Warranty

They told me that it was a puncture from a road hazard. I still do have the warranty but the maintenance expired.

Attached is the picture of the blue hose that has a nick.

Also attached is a picture of the cover that was broken. I would love some help in figuring out that part number for that cover.

Thanks!

If it is under warranty they should fix it for you no charge. At least the pipe. The other thing is different.

Thanks, but they said that it was road hazard damage for the pipe.

How do I find the part number for the crash pan thing?

They said that because the other part was damaged, there was road damage to that hose.
