HP fuel pump replaced- Lost power.

My 2012 Countryman All4 S had the high pressure fuel pump replaced at 59k. Had new plugs put in at the same time. I know there are issues regarding the pump but can anyone tell me why I have less power and gas mileage? What's the deal? I expected my girl to be better, faster, stronger. Anyone with a similar experience? I'd appreciate any advice or recommendations.

Are you the original owner? Did they flash software or rest adaptations?

Hi! Thanks for the reply. I am the second owner. Bought 10/2013 with 20k miles.
I have no idea if they flashed or reset anything. There is no mention of it on the invoice.

I was thinking that prior owner might have had the car tuned and Mini service overwrote that. Any way to find/ask first owner?

I have a name but no other information. What about a new tune for performance? Any successes with that?

Yes, might have been re-flashed back to the original stock tune.

Only way to find out is track down the previous owner unless the Tune shop put a sticker or marked the outside of the ECU box. Most dont, they just flash it. Was there any older receipts with the car ? Like from another shop. If so track down that shop.

Update:
So after a few weeks of power and gas mileage loss after replacing the hpfp the check engine light comes on. Went to the dealer. Needs a new turbo! Wth? Happenstance? Coincidence? Or was the hpfp not necessary and it was the turbo all along? Or did the hpfp issue cause the turbo to fail?

I don't see that the HPFP replacement could cause turbo failure. If the fuel pump never fixed any of the issues, then you should be on them about that and getting reimbursed for it. Misdiagnose is certainly possible. Proving all that is another issue. Time for a serious sit down with them and hash it out. I wouldn't let them do the Turbo unless they had a plan for you to rely on that you won't be coming back every few weeks and dropping thousands for no end results.

Makes me nervous about my CM.

The power and mileage loss was a new issue that immediately started after replacing the hpfp. I've only got 60k on my CM. Makes me nervous too. But I'm in love with this car....
I have an extended warranty but it's not through MINI. They're actually sending an inspector to check over the car and asked for all my service records. I have no worries but it's a little insulting. Didn't ask for it on the hpfp repair. There are no mods, which I'm sure they're looking for. I paid $1700 for the warranty. Hpfp cost $1200 and the turbo looks to be about $5000. They're now losing money. Anyway, I digress....
I am concerned about the previous repair but since I'm not a mechanic Its hard to plead my case in spite of my suspicions.
