Mini Connected Pairing Issue

I've searched and could not find anything, so here is the issue:

2015 brand new Mini Countryman S All4 with Mini Connected package.

The system will allow bluetooth calling but does not actually pair with the iphone 6, 6 plus or Iphone 5S. It thinks for a long time, then gives an error message:

"Connection to Bluetooth device could not be established for the selected function. Connect another Bluetooth Device."

The four phone slots read "Empty", but you can make calls via bluetooth. Once the car is shut off, you have to re-pair to get the phone working, but it still does not pair for anything but phone calls.

Before I go back to the dealer, just checking if this is a simple software update fix.

Thanks in advance.

You can try updating the software (input VIN here to see if it is available: http://www.bmw.com/com/en/owners/con...re_update.html ), but it's sounding like something the dealer will have to fix.

Usually they can fix by reprogramming the combox or replacing it, worst case. Either way, it's covered under warranty.

I assume all the iPhones you've tried are on the latest iOS (8.3)?

Yes, all the phones have been updated. I live in a rural area, so getting to the dealer is not the easiest solution, but probably necessary.

I am going to try the update as you never know.

Thanks

Finally went to the dealer, and I've come to the conclusion that mini connected is a giant turdpile! I've never seen a system that takes this long to pair, won't set the phones to the phone list, fails to stream music etc. I'd love to say it is operator error, but I have Bluetooth on 4 other cars that function without issue.

Make sure you have the latest software. You can do it yourself with a usb fab. Look here.
