Clearing CELs with OBD2 apps

Is it possible to clear a check engine light with app based software on a mini? I have a CEL for "lean fuel mix bank 1" related to my newly installed JB+ and would like to clear it. However, using my ELM327 obd2 device and various apps I cannot get the light to disappear. Normally you clear codes while the ignition is off but in the mini the code is not displayed or readable unless the car is running.

Any advice? I have not tried resetting the ECU yet by disconnecting the battery since I'm unfamiliar if this will work on the vehicle. I cycled the ignition 5 times as the r56 forums suggest to no avail.

Just want the light gone by my own hand if possible. Disappointed I cannot clear it with the app.

Yes I did. I removed the JB+ for the time being. I need the code cleared out before dialing down the JB+ and giving it another try.

Code popped up about 100 miles after using the jb+

Forgot to reply,

This code did self clear eventually. I might be paranoid but now it seems like I am getting some detonation at WOT periodically. Seems like ECU pulls back on the throttle accompanied by a bit of metallic chatter. Maybe knock sensor pulling back timing being a bit confused from running the JB+. Still getting used to the car. I'll keep an eye out. A bit of knock in a high output engine isn't so bad unless it's pre-detonation right? Which would be noticeable since rods would shoot out of my hood I imagine.
