Joystick Problem

We have had our CM for three months now. I noticed from the very beginning that when you depress the joystick you have to press it down much harder than I what I would think to be normal...otherwise nothing happens and it's as if you did not press it at all. Anyone else have the same complaint/ observation? I searched the forum for similar complaints and the only thing I could find was an R56 owner whose joystick would get stuck in the depressed position. The dealer lubed it and solved the issue. Thanks in advance for your input.

Thanks for your response Noreen. How old is your car? Has it been this way since new?

2012 March build took delivery end of April. Although I've already been in for my first service ( forgot to ask because I was really frustrated with service dept) taking it in (differnt dealer)for check up before we drive to Mickey & MINI, let you know what they say.

I've got the same issue in my 2012 CM. Need to "press with authority" to make a selection.

My wife has a 2012 R57 w/ Connected, but hers seems to act as you'd expect: gentle press & selection is made.

I've not made mention of this to service since I've gotten used to the press and I'm more concerned they'd break additional stuff vs. just fix what I've got now if an attempt was made. That and it doesn't bug me since I'm used to it now.
