Hi guys did anyone of you experienced popping sounds/static on your HK sound system? My speakers just suddenly started "exploding" literally sounding like firecrackers. It lasted for a few minutes and then my speakers stopped working all together. I hope this is not the start of my problems I just had my mini for 2 weeks Can anyone enlighten me why this happened Iam going to bring my cm back to the dealer on wed.

 

I have an HK system in my Mercedes SLK and the same thing happened...the amp (Mercedes calls it "the audio gateway") went bad. Should be a very easy fix, but I would not expect a dealer to have this part in stock. BTW, which dealer did you buy your CM from?

 

Yep, dead amp... Good thing you are under warranty, it is not a cheap item. Most people end up ripping the system out when they go bad.

 

Thanks guys! Shark I got my CM from prestige MINI north jersey, I am going to go there tomorrow to have it serviced I hope they cover it under the warranty because 1 blog I read said they didnt and it cost 1200 ;(
