Exclamation Thermostat Sensor (root cause of no/hard start, fan running excessively, overheating)

I posted this message to MINI and also sent them an email directly. Lets see what happens; they have an opportunity to make good here by recalling and replacing with a new part # if they have one designed yet as bostonterrier suggested. I understand there would be many MINI CMs affected and it could take a while. I'd be okay with that as long as they communicate back to us and ultimately address it. Putting the same part back on and hoping the issue does not happen again is not a solution unless they know they got certain lots that were faulty. In that case they need to determine which cars those went on and just recall those.

So far its been "crickets chirping" on both my post on the ON and the email that I sent directly to MINI. I understand they may have their hands full with the engine fire recall, but they can at least acknowledge my direct email with some kind of response.

kunzman,

I hate to say it, but I'll bet you never get a response. I tried 3 times with the trim issue, and never heard anything. Maybe they will respond to this issue because it is a bit more serious, but I wouldn't bet on it. I've pretty much given up on MINI. It's sad, because I love the car, but I hate dealing with MINI.

Heard anything? My fiancee's R60 just went limp outside Albuquerque. Yellow temperature icon.

Asked my SA and they have not updated the part number for the thermostat. Looks like they are just swapping out and crossing fingers.
