Sunroof just exploded while driving!

I was driving in the highway home from work going about 75MPH when I hear a loud POP in the car. At first I thought it was a tire but no sensors came on. While at the next stop light I decide to look back and see the rear sunroof EXPLODED. Completely shattered, since intact but shattered. I get home (mind you it's raining outside) and I don't have a garage. Thankfully I have neighbors who do have one and I was able to store the car there for now. When I closed the door, a large chunk fell. Luckily all in the net and no major water damage. Called the dealer and they didn't know how to react to it. Taking it to the dealer tomorrow or Monday.

Photos below, any thoughts? Suggestions? Will the dealer cover this?

did you go under a bridge where debris could fall or someone may have thrown something at it?

This just happened to my wife's minivan a few weeks back. When I made the claim and explained to the insurance agency how it happened, I told them a story pretty much exact to yours and the claims agent response was that it was typical of this type of claim. Out of nowhere the sunroof goes.

Your pic resembles the one my wife had. Something crashed through it. On the bright side, if there's no damage to the body, it's a glass claim that may have a cheaper deductible than your comprehensive. Good luck!

I had the same thing happen on my Jeep. After the dealer looking at it and heard the story of how it happened, Jeep replaced it with no cost to me. One thing to remember
do not go in mad! That will not help at this time. Stay calm!!

So I toke the car in this morning, they are keeping it to have some guy look at it tomorrow (Monday) and will call me with more information. The weather down here has been crazy raining so it was a nice pain in the **** to get to the dealer 45 minutes away this morning. I'll keep you posted!
