Clicking noise when shifting

I just started getting this noise that sounds like a click whenever I shift from first to second and second to third. It clicks one time only as I'm shifting. I can't tell exactly where it originates from but it sounds like it's coming from the shifter. It's not loud, but it's noticeable. It doesn't make the noise after third gear. Doesn't seem to affect anything either. Anyone else experience this?

Seems like I'm hearing the same thing in my car. It just sounds like you can hear the mechanical gears working...

Not the same car but my R50 is doing the same. Only from 2nd to 3rd. Otherwise all other upshifts and downshifts are working ok.

Solved for me.

I'm bringing this post up from the dead because I just remembered reading this months ago. I was having the same problem from the day I took my CMS home. For me it was nothing major but it bugged the heck out of me. I love the sound of the engine in Sports mode but that click sound just made the car feel and sound cheap.

When I took her in for my first service my SA told me it was the key chain hanging from the FOB and I gave him the "Do you think I'm stupid look." He then promptly drove it again with the windows down and finally heard the problem. What they did was loosen and tighten all the engine mounts. My CMS no longer makes that click or tick sound when shifting from 1-2-3. It may be my imagination but probably not, my MINI feels tighter and more solid. If you guys are still having this problem have your SA take a look at the mounts. Let me know if it solves your problem. Hoping this helps someone.
