I searched thru the threads and didn't see that anyone has had this happen... this is the HK premium system

I arrived at my destination after a short drive, after shutting down the engine and removing the key, i realized that pushing the radio off button did nothing! the radio continued to play, despite the dash being completely black, hitting "mode" would light up the display, but turning it "off" only turned off the display, sound was still coming out, and the volume contol even worked. key in, key out, door opened, door closed... didn't matter, needless to say it was unsettling. I had a few things I needed to do so I set it to 'AUX' input so at least there wasn't sound, and called the dealer

Service said to bring it in, and of course... by the time I finished up and gathered the dog and got ready to go (about 20 minutes), I realized it was working properly again. I haven't taken it in yet, but it hasn't done it again either.

I'm just wondering if I did something in a combination like opening the door as i turned off the car with the radio running.. that triggered the glitch. I figure that when the car did its "electronic shutdown" after 20 mins, that the radio reset itself. I've gotten in the habit of just turning it off before i turn off the ignition

The car has been an absolute charm otherwise!! Anybody out there have any electronic brain gremlins like this?

 

Here is what I have found. If you hit the start/stop button real fast the radio will stay on for extended time. Pressing the lock button on the key will turn the radio off for me. If you hold the start/stop button slower to turn the motor off the radio will turn off. Give it a try.
