I'm in my first week of ownership of my white countryman S. I've noticed the same buzz in my passenger door area when going over rough road. Also when I hit a bigger bump, I get a 'thump, thump, thump' from the back somewhere. It's not sharp, and it sounds like something on a pivot point, being thrown up, and then bouncing when it lands. Tried removing the storage cover, but that didn't work.

Any tips?

I'm coming from a 2005 cooper S, which was a rattle, buzz, creaking NIGHTMARE. Overall, this car sounds much more tight. I'm just hoping it doesn't start to develop the interior sound problems. If it does, I'm probably gonna move on to another brand of car. I really can't deal with it. Drives me crazy.

So here's my story:
Less than 3500 miles and my 11 MCS has been in 3 times, fourth next week, for door rattles. What has helped is that my service dept. put felt "washers" on both ends of the plastic pieces that attach the panel to the door. I know this has helped because the driver's side has them, the passenger doesn't and it is louuuuddd.

Like Cosmic Blue, they also think that the felt rubbing is making noise that is pissing me off. One time they purposely put a few centimeters gap between the panel and the door which made a HUGE difference - but pissed me off. Should I really have gaps in my door for a 28k car?

I'm going to e-mail my service manager about the teflon tape - thanks for the head's up!

So my ongoing saga continues, although now the tune might be different. I was driving the CM around north MS last week on calls and when I got in it to run about 75 minutes down the road the check engine/reduced power light came on yellow. The book says you can continue to drive but get it checked soon (for the record I have 3/4 of a tank of gas at the time.)

I continued to drive it to my appointment with periodically getting off of the Interstate to stop and restart it to see if that would clear the light, all to no avail. Well my appointment lasted about 3 hours and when I got back in the car the light was on, and stayed on the entire 45 minutes to my hotel room. Later that night, when I went out to dinner, the light was off, and has not come back on now 5 days later.

This bothers me so I got out my new ODB-II tool and plugged in to see what codes were there. I have two. P0105 and P0597. The first has to do with a MAP sensor and the second a thermostat heater control.

Any ideas out there?

I know this is an older thread but have you tried the door unlock/lock indicators? Mine rattle like crazy unless in the locked position (shown in picture). A quick jiggle on either will show how loose they are. Try holding them while driving.

I also have a buzz in the center of my dash around 2-2.5k RPMS. It is very annoying. I have determined that if you push in on either side of the volume control **** (underneath the CD player) it will completely dissappear. Gonna try putting some felt behind there.

Sorry, but I figured the OP might be able to figure out where his are on the Countryman on his own

That said, I was just trying to throw some possibilities out there.

I'm on your exact same program and plan to fix it with this stuff (link) as soon as work slows down and the weather warms up. Here's the stuff I plan to use on EVERYTHING in the back/doors; mostly closed cell foam and felt tape with a conservative use of CLD tiles.

I'm certainly not an expert and someone for another forum is who motivated me to apply this to the MINI. When I get to it, I hope to put up a DIY; assuming it's successful. I'm sure many folks are far ahead of me on this.
