Yellow engine power warning light

Anybody have problems with your check engine light and the power goes down and you have less than 50K on your odometer...Take it to your dealership!
Last November the check engine light came on and my dealership replaced the fuel pump...under warranty.
Last 4 months I've been getting the check engine light on...constantly...It's not your gas cap.
Took it to my mechanic (he owns a MINI)...he told me...not your fuel pump or gas cap...it's your turbo.
Yesterday took it to the dealership...the lead service advisor said "Let's go for ride."...We just took a right turn out of the lot...Blip!...Check engine light goes up...the service advisor said "It's not the sensor, but feels like the turbo."...Got a loaner car...turbo should be under warranty.

Glad your MINI is still under warranty and it sounds as though they'll get to the bottom of it.
My check engine light went on about a month ago - in my Countryman's case it turned out to be the coil and spark plugs this time. Fortunately MoFC fit me in right away because we were leaving in three days for a long driving vacation.
Best wishes on your check engine light - this is the second time around for me...I posted about a year or more ago, that time if memory serves it was the fuel pump, for me.

Engine Fault Message
I have been getting the ENGINE FAULT warning for quite some time now. The first time it happen I took my car to the dealership and they told me the warning did not show on their device. Second time, same thing. Then it did not happen for a long time and the car behaved completely normal. I recently moved to Georgia and the warning has been triggering frequently. Just as the times it came on before, there is a loss of the turbo. I can drive and the engine runs but, power is simply not there.
I have noticed the light always comes on at the same time and place when I am on my way home from work. Also, I have noticed that it comes on when running low on gas. Finally, I have discovered the problem goes away by either opening the tank cap or filling up the tank. It has worked every time since I discovered it.
I am guessing this has to do with pressure in the tank. I think that whenever temperature varies and pressure changes inside the tank a vacuum is created and the light comes on. Can someone give their input? I want to have an idea of what the problem is before I take it to the dealership 150mi away. I am attaching a picture of the warning.
Cheers!

My R56 MCS displayed the yellow EWLight intermittently for 4 months. It seemed to turn off sometimes after fueling and sometimes seemed to come on in hot driving or when shut off and restarted after a brief period (5 minutes or so). Finally checked oil and noticed the coolant reservoir was empty one morning. Refilled and was empty again that night. Turned out the problem was a leaking thermostat housing. One of the glued side seams was dribbling coolant but never showed any puddle on the ground. All is well now. My mechanic got the thermostat for $120 versus $200 at the dealership. Total cost with tax, installed, was $385.

Turbo
The yellow engine power warning light went off today on my 2011 Countryman S. Power to the engine was significantly reduced. The car is only 1 month old with 900 miles on it. This is very diappointing considering I drove my last MCS for 8 years and a check engine light never came on once on that car.
Anyone had this problem yet?

i had had this issue on my Mini Cooper s 2009, I was driving a fairly bumpy road when the light came on, popped the bonnet and one of the hoses has come off of the turbo triggering the light... the good thing about smart cars like this is when a fault is detected the computer will automatically shut off the part of the car not running correctly so my turbo stopped operating.
Once the problem is fixed you need to take it in to get the fault cleared from the computer which will allow the turbo to run again.
