New to me '13 Countryman JCW

Hello forum! New to the forum. I'm a car nut, mod junkie. Used to doing extensive mods on my cars. I'm just at the learning stage of what the JCW package includes, and where I can start doing mods. Would love some guidance! Pics to come, I take delivery of it 9/14!! Heres a pic

Welcome! I'm new to Minis also. I have a '16 JCW. Installing the torque arm bushing insert is a must if you have a manual. After that it depends on your wallet. I came from a Subaru STI and got a bit jaded with the amount of performance mods available from basic stage upgrades to fully built engines. The Countryman, unlike the smaller Minis, is limited but there is much you can do. I added a JB+ to help in the engine performance area, saving a downpipe and retune for after the warranty runs out. I find the suspension more that adequate for daily driving but if you plan to track the car then there are suspension packages available. The JCW exhaust is setup is good but some will remove the resonator to get more of the Mini "pop" out of the exhaust. Have fun with it. MarioKart is a good resource on this site. Oh, I have a mod if your driver side mirror won't adjust to where you like it.

Nice find and welcome! Like lhomme61 said, MarioKart is a good resource on this site for tunes and some parts. He has a very nice JCW Countryman as well. For now I also have the JB+, which I got from Mario, until I pick up my intercooler than will get the Manic Stage II tune from him. He has a sweet deal where if you get the JB+ from Mario and decide to get a tune later from him, he'll buy back the JB+ and apply it to the cost of the tune.. Happy motoring!

Just got back to MT from AZ, an amazing 1300+ mile bonding experience! I AM IN LOVE!! What an amazingly smooth ride on the highway, and a corner killer!! Can't be more happy with my purchase.

So back to this thread, where do i find the torque arm bushing insert? Also, not familiar with the JB+, is that a computer tuner?

My next big concern is because it is a JCW, what REALLY are upgrades? Like, did JCW upgrade the intercooler? downpipe? sway bars? I need to get familiar with what's installed so I don't install/ waste money on a downgrade :P

Congrats and welcome. I am not a big help on the modding I have only done things like the LED fog lights (which was 5 hors of taking the front of the car)

The great things is there are lots of tutorials on how to on the mini forums and Ytube.

Have fun!!!!

PM MarioKart and he'll set you up. Do a search for JB+ and you'll find plenty of info. It's a plug and play unit that hooks to your MAF sensor. If you decide to go the ECU reprogram route then you'll get the most gains from it with a better downpipe and intercooler. The JCW already has a larger turbo than the S so I'm not sure if there are any added benefits to upsizing.

Nice JCW congrats. I almost got one like that but they still wanted $$$ for it and someone bought it.

Congrats on the new ride! She's a beauty! I still think chili red is a great color on the r60.
