Rear lower control arm ball joint?

I know this is a dumb question, but I'm wanting to replace my rear lower control arms on my 2013 countryman S, and I am trying to find adjustable arms with ball joints included already... but the more I research, the more confused I become. Are there ball joints in the rear lower control arms? If there are, can I replace the control arms (easily) without having to replace the joints?

Hi,
Changing #9 on this diagram, wishbone lower. I have a bad negative camber, need to switch from stock to adjustable camber arm. I haven't been able to find any videos on my specific model, mostly awd and a few older model fwd.

#9 is those adjustable arms we carry (shared on the R56 MINI Cooper), you just do the lower ones on each side. Its the same as the R56 MINI. Just little bigger trailing arm and a four wheel drive set up (if you have it) . Linked above. That's and # 6 to the body connection are the rear alignment adjustments. Get those lower links and but it on an alignment rack and have it aligned to the set up you want. # 9 in adjustable format (over stock solid bar) gets you more adjustment in or out on the lower portion.

Those rear control arms will swap out the same as the R56, so you can follow those tutorials.

There are no ball joints in that process either. One bolt on each end, drop, and reinstall.

Make sure you mark the orientation of the alignment bolt at the rear knuckle before loosening. Than you can reinstall to the same location. Also, get the adjustable arm as close as possible to the same length as the OEM control arm. If you are diligent with these two steps, the car will drive the same as OEM configuration until you can get into the alignment shop.

Thank you so much for the help!

I'm glad to know I don't have to worry about joints on this.

I'm going to have Eibach Pro Kit springs installed on my R60 and it's my understanding I'll need rear control arms to adjust the camber aftward. Wondering which rear control arms to buy.

Godspeed are about $150
Meghan Racing are about $225
H-Sport are about $315
NM are about $440

I can't really find any reviews of any of them other than the H-Sport. Thanks for any help/info you can provide.

For a daily driver, just get the inexpensive Dorman adjustable from RockAuto. If you plan on driving hard, get the H-Sports. Stay away from anything with a metal ball joint on the end. Those are high maintenance joints and will make a lot of noises.

Hi,

I'm mostly a daily driver/roadtripper and when I replaced my rear lower control arms a few months back I put on a pair from Mevotech, from parts geek. (SKU #GK100003) They were $210, and they had a farily wide range of adjustment. I like them a lot, I haven't noticed any problems and they were really easy to put on. I didn't really need help for any part of it.
