AM Radio Reception

I realize I might be one of the few Mini Countryman owners who listens to AM radio a lot, but I do and the reception in my 2012 All4 is crappy. My other cars reception is fine, so I know it's the car.

I tried a few antenna replacements, no improvement.

Amyone else have this issue? I'm all ears for any ideas on what to do....

My only thoughts are that it may be the antenna amplifier which i believe is located either in the roof near the antenna mount or in the hatch like many other MINI's and BMW's have. One of these days I'm going to remove the hatch interior panel and have a look around to see if a wire has come loose. Not sure I want to attempt removing the roof panel though.....
