No JCW exhaust on my CM JCW?

Just purchased a 2015 CM JCW and I recently noticed that it does not have the JCW tips? So is the exhaust not JCW? What am I missing?

Also I always run the car in sport mode...no pops or burbles at all?

Any insight would be appreciated.

You can have JCW trim, without it having the performance portion of JCW.

This is my 4th Mini and 2nd JCW...it's definitely the real deal ( I will upload some pics tonight and update my Avatar) which is why I raised the question. I've only had the car three weeks and was washing it over the weekend when I noticed the tailpipes didn't say JCW..which prompted my question.

No JCW exhaust on my CM JCW?

Here's a couple of pics of my car. The original window sticker states JCW CM...it has all of the JCWs "upgrades" and everywhere I look a JCW emblem and obviously the motor and "guts" of a JCW....that's why I'm surprised the exhaust "tips" do not say JCW (like when I bought the body kit for my last CM..included JCW tips). I'm not sure how big of a difference it makes...you can also help me out on what I may be missing out on--as I don't know what I have--stock?

Thanks to all for your feedback.

On the R56s FACTORY JCW cars did not say Works on the tips. Only the after-the-fact, dealer add-on JCW kit cars were etched. Likely the same scenario

Example:

Factory JCW

JCW tuning kit

i thought i remembered the tips on the jcw rear end being part of the bumper package. i have the jcw add-on exhaust without the rear end and tips are removeable and stamped.

Mine just had the JCW exterior/interior package and it would burble and pop in sport mode. Here's my rear, the exhaust tips look different from yours...

That is confusing I have noticed. I wish it was all JCW or none. My tips look like they belong on an escort but it pops and rumbles. Now i am curious if I just have the exhaust and interior group. I wonder how one would know if you have the JCW turbo.

So I added the JCW aero kit on my last CM and it came with JCW tips. I buy a factory CM JCW and it doesn't come with JCW tips. Neither in sport mode did/do any burble etc....
LOL....maybe it's me!! Anyway have loved both cars just confused.....

That is the "aftermarket" add-on kit version which is why they look different from Pure's factory JCW.

It is odd its different like that I agree

I have a hard time getting any pops or burbles from my S, but its an auto so I have to manipulate the throttle just right to even get some. Cant imagine a JCW exhaust would help much in that regard, but who-knows!

Pure, are your tips attached to the bumper as well? Or are they the physical exhaust pipe?

It's not aftermarket, it's the factory installed JCW appearance package. It's not the real deal that includes engine and exhaust upgrades of course. The real JCW exhaust tips are attached to the pipes where the appearance package ones are attached to the bumper with a little 1 1/2 pipe floating inside behind the tips.

There's 3 options you can get that are all termed JCW in some way or another:

1. JCW interior/exterior packages - for base/S models to get the aerokit and interior JCW appointments like red stitched steering wheel. includes JCW Aerokit but standard base/S exhaust (what benibiker has).

2. JCW tuning kit - aftersales package including ECU tune, JCW tuning kit exhaust (DIFFERENT from factory JCW Exhaust), and some other things? not sure.

3. Factory JCW - as name implies, factory model with aerokit, factory JCW Exhaust, JCW interior/exterior appointments, JCW brakes, JCW engine...the real deal. factory JCW Exhaust does not have the engraving like the JCW tuning kit exhaust does.

So on a fJCW don't expect to have the engraved tips. And Benibiker is saying that your last countryman had what looks like the engraved tips because they were built into the rear bumper (I think), not the actual exhaust pipe.

Also pops/burbles absolutely are there. I only get them after the car warms up. Drive with the sport mode button on for more that 15 minutes and they should definitely pop...sit at a light in neutral and rev it out, anything above 2k should induce pops and burbles.

My response was to iwashmycar when he said mine was "aftermarket" which was not, it was just the factory installed JCW appearance package as 3lusive mentioned above. As far as yours goes I have no doubt it's the real deal because your exhaust tips have a slight angled cut and are actually attached to the exhaust. Mine were just dummy tips attached to the bumper with the real exhaust pipe floating inside. I usually get my popping sound when I'm in sport mode and with the auto in manual I downshift and it pops. Enjoy your car, it's beautiful!

Thanks for all of the knowledge!! After 4 Mini's still learning. Took these pics today...the exhaust are not attached on a factory JCW....so basically just like the aero kit add-on except the kit comes with chrome engraved "JCW"....

I had magnoflow on my last CM added the aero kit and gave the JCW tips that came with it to a friend....who modified them onto a non Mini.....oh well.....

I'm gonna try to see if I can get the exhaust "to crackle-pop....tomorrow....

Given what I found out today I would like to add the JCW tips down the road to finish the "look"

For what it's worth... I've had a 2014 and 2016 JCW, and both of them had the same exhaust that you have pictured (no JCW engraved). The tips are purely cosmetic and not even attached to the actual exhaust. Purely cosmetic, but then again almost all factory exhausts are this way, even within the BMW brand. But seriously, does the JCW engraving make any difference? True, on the 2011 vert I had, it was cool to see it clearly labeled, but I was probably the only one who ever noticed it.

Depending on mileage, the crackle/pop might not be as prominent. I noticed that once I had more miles on the car, the burble/pop sounds were a little more noticeable, but it's not as audible while driving the car unless near a wall (with the windows down) to reflect the sound. The sound dampening in the countryman is pretty decent.

Totally agree...no one but me will notice. My whole issue is why it wasn't included on a factory JCW car to begin with like ALL of the other models....as far as the burbling I'm moving past that too....

Love the car and happy to be back in a Mini....but if there's a killer deal on tips I'll still buy them....lol...
