Broken Lumbar Support

So,

I will caveat this post with the fact that my wife is not fat. She's 6' tall, but a slender, athletic build.

I was wondering if anyone else has had this issue: about 2 years ago, my wife was driving the C-man when the lumbar support made a crunch noise and lost all support. The part was replaced under warranty of course.

Fast forward to today, and she's driving home from picking our daughter up from daycare. She reached back to give something to the tyke and she felt a crunch again and a loss of support on one side...ie, the lumbar broke again!!!

Pretty irritating. In all of my years of owning cars (over 20), I have never encountered a broken lumbar support, even on the cheapest of brands. Worst part is is that the closest dealer to us is up in San Jose over an hour away so we'll have to waste a Saturday for them to look at it, then another Saturday down the line after they get the part from Germany (yes, that's what happened last time).

Least it's still under the bumper to bumper warranty for another 10 months...

Other threads about this exist. First owner of my car had lumbar support fail. Mine was broken again when I purchased it so it was replaced. Next time it happens I will be out of pocket, so will have to take seat apart and figure out how to fix it permanently in full support mode.

Ahhh, the 'search' function. Knew it was there for a reason. Lots of discussion on this subject already....

Do you know if the hand wheel needs to be ordered as well, or should it only need the main assembly?
