What is the black box on the top of the windshield?

My CM has a black box attached to the top of the windshield, above and behind the rearview mirror. Looking from the outside, there are what appear to be some optical sensors - it resembles the LIDAR unit for an adapter cruise control and/or autonomous braking system I've seen on other cars. However, I wasn't aware that the CM was available with these options.

Do any of you know for certain what this thing is for?

Thanks WMW. I suspected it might be for such, though I was secretly hoping it was for a cool hidden feature that could be enabled through NCSExpert.

Wouldn't it be cool if it was an infrared sensor to drive the car around like some of those toy helicopters.

Then again, with such giant toys I could see some crazy fun at the dealership with so many mini's when the customers aren't around.

They can exercise mind control with it...ever feel different after you sit down?!
Google it...I have learned everything is on google...lol..
To protect yourself, you can make a tinfoil hat, and wear it while driving.
Funny....that homeless guy on the street that says "they are watching me" does not seem so crazy anymore!!
