retrofit alarm?
So the 2012 Canadian countryman S doesn't have the option for adding an alarm. I guess I can special order it, or if possible retrofit it myself. I'm no stranger to retrofitting having retro'd the navigation/bluetooth/satellite radio on my E46 M3, and coded my E70 X5.
I have looked at Real OEM, but there doesn't seem to be a lot of info pertaining to this
Has anyone retro'd the alarm, or should I consider special ordering this.

Sorry for the dumb/obvious, but why? The OEM system has a motion sensor, possibly tilt sensor(?) and the easy part is coding. But after 2009 the vehicle were not prewired for it and thus I believe a harness needs to be changed out in the body to accommodate the additional hardware required to make the unit live.
So while I appreciate your enthusiasm I am also realistic and wondering that if it even were possible, with the tons our hours of labor to retrofit and the near pointlessness of alarms, why would you want to?
All of that effort could be spent on an aftermarket alarm which still isn't easy supposedly but I have read of 1 or 2 folks on here doing it.
