So I've had my Countryman for almost 2 months. Other than seeing a couple on a trip to France, and of course at the dealer, I've not seen another MINI Countryman on the road yet.
In a conversation the other day someone mentioned that phenomenon where once you buy a car all of the sudden you see them everywhere just because you are paying attention. Nope, not me. ;-)
I might have. I was stopped on Metro at the Rhode Island Station. Station is about 100 feet above the roadway and the vehilce was stopped at the light up the road. Looked like a Countryman, but not for certain.
I haven't seen one in the wild yet either. With two mini dealers in the metro area, I'm surprised that I haven't seen one. Now I'm sort of hoping I won't until I get my car in a month or so.
I've only seen two around here and one is owned by my MA and the other was a dealer car.
Those don't count. I'm talking about real MINI Countryman in the wild!
When I got my 03, it was pretty rare to see another MINI. People would stop me all the time to ask what it was and to tell me stories about original Minis in the UK. That isn't happening with the Countryman but I do have more gas station attendants wanting to chat about it. They all say they haven't seen any others yet either.

They can be quick!
In Paris a couple times the kids would yell. "Dad, a Countryman!" and I'd usually be able to get enough of a glance to catch some identifying feature like two door handles. Saw another one on the highway but we we're both going 90ish in opposite directions. Never saw one long enough to get a good look.
Very nice Pic! I was SCUBA diving at the remains of the 1940 Tacoma Narrows bridge this weekend. We took the SUV though. Countryman is not the rig for 3 people's worth of SCUBA gear. ;-)
I've only seen one out in the wild at a Costco parking lot. It was a white ALL4 with a black roof (I was a little upset because I thought I would have one of the first in the area )
I did see a second one too (it looks exactly like the red one you posted, DneprDave) at a 3rd party dealership. I was upset then too, but it was because I couldn't believe anyone would want to get rid of their CM so soon!
Rumor has it from my friends that there is another one in Bend besides mine...identical white with black roof, but a ski rack instead of a roof box. I haven't seen it yet...just know that I get a lot of rubbernecking and comments.
