R61 Mod Advice

Hey everyone,

I have a 2013 Paceman S All4 with 100k miles on it. Currently, it is on a lowered suspension set up from a previous owner and has a craven short-throw shifter I put in.

I've been thinking about a stage 1 or 2 tune with the required parts for a while and am finally in a financial position to do so. However, I'm concerned that with the high mileage of my car I'd be wasting money on something with a short life span.

But, perhaps replacing the turbo with a JCW size unit would actually extend longevity? I haven't seen many mods other than a turbo heat shield that deal with cooling- are there other mods that would help with the durability of my car?

Any thoughts/advice appreciated!

Greg

I would start with a bigger intercooler first as it won't harm the car and you will get gains from it with no other mods. But when you do a tune or other mods you will need it to lower the intake temps.

You can also do other bolt ons such as a downpipe, res delete pipe, exh, but the gains will be less. And thd DP will give you a check engine light until you do the tune.
