Which exhaust shall I get?! Advice needed pls ...

Hi all,

I'm ready for my next mod, and I'm thinking the exhaust. I've looked around and from the other threads, I gather I have 3 main options - JCW (I already have the JCW arero kit), Magnaflow or VIP. These seem to be the most common I think.

My goal is to improve performance a little and get some peppy noise action going! Don't want anything too loud or droning. Cost-wise, I've been quoted $1400 incl. parts and labor from my local MINI for the JCW exhaust. So my budget is around there.

So, what would you all advice wrt the pros and cons please? FYI, this is my first exhaust job, and I will be getting it installed by MiINI or another local garage.

Thanks in advance!! -kp

I ordered my magnaflow muffler with 4" tips and put a resonator on. This is a 2.5" exhaust from DP back. It was too loud initially, so I put the resonator on. It's still loud but not much droning unless I hit 90+mph on the highway(which I rarely do).

Cost with parts and labor with stainless steel tips, muffler, and piping, $460.

I am very happy with my jcw plus it hold warranty in place. I haven't heard or seen any others in person but jcw at first I though was too quiet. But I got rid of my run flats and I could really hear the exhaust. Power gains I am not sure of but if it's just sound then the above stated one could do the job for 1k less

Milltek and NM Eng options too. I would consider those main options.

Paid $1K with shipping to get the Milltek. It looks great and I am looking forward to the install this weekend. http://milltekexhaust.pumaspeed.co.u...per_S_All4.jsp

I really like the NM, but can't say anything bad about the Milltek exhaust. It does not require any cutting so that is a big plus.

do you have a 2wd or ALL 4?

I have a 2wd.
I do like that with JCW, the warranty will be maintained, so that is a consideration for me. Will check out some of the others mentioned here too.

Thanks all!
