It's a fancy filter that perhaps is too expensive because of what looks like (unnecessary) carbon fiber. Is the air drawn from the OEM source?

Yes, cold air come from the front OEM source
BMC is serious manufacter like K&N, so i don't think it's a fancy filter

Good find! I like the carbon fiber, it makes everything look expensive. The intake is $400.00. OUCH, i dont like it that much. plus the dryer hose attached the the factory intake tube ruins the expensive carbon fiber appeal and makes it look like a DIY intake. I can make the same intake minus the carbon fiber with a K&N apollo and dryer hose from hardware store for around or less than $200.00 wait the apollo comes with a dryer hose in the universal kit allready

I installed my CAIS and it's pretty cool !!
I open my front grill too...
Better performances than the VIP when it's warmer ...
