A thought I had yesterday was whether it could be installed upside down, so you get more of the intercooler in front of the lower grille. No idea if this is possible without modifying the bumper. Would there be any issue running air the opposite direction? I wouldn't think so, but I've only seen inside the R53 intercooler.

I'd say no. I don't think it would work with the pipes which are angled for their specific side. But by all means, give it a try when you get it!
