Alta Performace Intake

I just purchased an Alta Performance intake. Has anyone tried this one out yet?

06, urban gray with 18" bronze rota torques, wingless...vf22 pushing 22psi. It was 295 whp and 345 wtq. Base wrx on that dyno was 180ish whp. Thing was a monster.

20g on an 03 is insane...you ppg the tranny?

I didn't see your sig...stating you having an 03.

I've got the Alta intake on my R53. Between that, the 19% super charger pulley, and the Milltek exhaust, people can hear me coming. People just look at me with a confused look, wondering how all that noise is coming from such a small car. I love it! I took the foam filter off though and added in a K&N cone filter.

I had the Alta Cold air intake on my R53. The sound of the supercharger whine was insane.

I don't know how it sounds on the R60.

I had it on my R60. It makes the blowoff sound pretty loud. Other than that it didnt make too much of a difference noise wise.

I felt i lost some low end power. I had alot more shuddering from the motor while taking off from a stop, so i went back to stock.

Also note the alta performance intake is designed for minis that have a hood scoop. Ours doesnt, so it's going to be sucking in warm engine air.

Good sound, slight throttle response gain. Have not pushed it yet, only 1000 miles on motor. Overall quality and Fitment good.

As far as heat soak goes I really don't believe is in issue. Most people are measuring temps in engine bay when they should be measuring in the inter cooler charge pipe to intake manifold to truly see if there is heat soak issues.

I have the Alta intake and love it too.. I'm adding a larger intercooler, so for me flow is most important, the temp will be taken care of later.
