Tire threads are boring. But...searching for info is hit and miss. SO- my new-to-me Roadster has these tires on it. The grip is so sketchiy in the dry, it's almost like I'm in the marbles offline on the track; the car feels like it slips unevenly to the outside of a turn. I thought they might have been old, but the manufacture date is late April 2022. Any other experiences?

 

That doesn’t surprise me, since they have a tread wear rating of 640. That is pretty high, and they should last for a while, but grip will be low.

 

Overall I do like Michelin tires. The best tires I had for summer grip on the MINI were the Michelin pilote super sport. I love driven on those. Felt stuck to the ground. Big issues though, they were not for winter at all so one needs a winter tire set. And second big issue was that wear wasn't even. The inside wearing prematurely much faster du to the dual compound design. My guess is that they were design for wider tire size where side to side compound isn't as affected. Pricey too. But they were fun to drive with for a time.

Thus I've been riding on Michelin Pilote Sport A/S. They've been great tires overall. For track I couldn't say but personally I've been very happy with them and their mix (stickiness, all season, and wear). I would still switch to winter tires for very harsh snowy winter. But last year I didn't swap and they did well.
