Considering a 2012 JCW roadster

I know it has the older N14 engine that was somewhat problematic (timing chain), should I avoid?

Also, wondering if I could have some perspectives on:

1. Interior comfort for highway trips (recaros and general sound/comfort
2. Convertible - top down wind buffeting and noise levels?

Appreciate any perspective. I am not expecting a Lincoln like drive!

I drive 150 miles a day 5 days a week. I love my roadster. I also have a pickup truck and hate when I drive it.

We've driven MA to Arkansas, Atlantic Canada, and the Dragon in North Carolina in ours, no problems. I can hear spoken word podcasts top down at highway speeds, and hold conversations. Mine's an S with the N18 so I can't speak to the timing chain problem, but I thought there was a recall now so that shouldn't be an issue, but others can correct me on that.

I have a N14 JCW 2012 R58 and its has held up well. Being built at the end of the N14 range and the parts being more German sourced parts then french in the JCW models, I had no real issues. I thin by the end of that range the N14 early problems were less and less. I did have an n14 R56 also, once I had the timing chain done, thermo, waterpump, aux pump, expansion tank, oil lines, and oil filter gasket done, as well as maintenance , it was fine.
