R59 I'm in!!! Ordered a roadster today...
I hope one of the first mods you do, is a turbo shield like NM. Plus under hood shield. That's the first thing I did, as that hood will get real hot without it.
Bill
So on my 2k mi trip to smokies I didn't have the shield in place. And as it turns out the N18 seems cooler than my previous N14s. My friend who was on the trip also has an N14 R56 had a much hotter bonnet after the same set of runs. And another friend on the trip with an fJCW... well you could see the heat pouring out of his bonnet scoop

Anyways, thought I'd share that unscientific observation
I bought the NM titanium and haven't installed it yet. The supplied posts interfered with the engine cover. I'm waiting for a new machined set from Jerry.

By the way, it has the hood insulation. I break them in differently, as my way is to drive as long as possible, usually 200 miles to set things right. That's just my way, others may differ
Great. Good luck and enjoy. Never could figure out why some have the insulation and some don't. PS my way is to hammer on them and then coast, best done on back country roads.
Spiney, who knows what reasons Mini would answer. Another roadster on the showroom floor doesn't have the insulation.
Well, been driving since Thursday... Mostly top down.... People around me are going nuts... My wife is smitten....
I always wanted a roadster... But to me, it was a big risk.... PLEASE EXCUSE MY LANGUAGE: Are you shitting me ... This car is the *****!!!!!

I purchased a roadster because diesel was costing me 1200 a month. I needed to find a car with good gas mileage that was not boring. After a short time on the web. The mini roadster was what I was looking for and could not be happier. It has a great balance of gas mileage, handling, looks, and mod ability. I have another car I'm building and have not touched it since getting the roadster.

So glad that you love it as much as the rest of us do! Like we said while you were going through the process, you either "get it" or you don't, and I guess you and your wife both do!!
+1..........
Yup, either you are a roadster person or you're not.
My wife and I started at 10am took a loop around the Quabbin, over the Shutesbury Hill through Amherst, Northampton up to Williamsburg for Lupper then down to West Springfield. Ended our trip going through the tornado area from Springfield to Wilbraham and home. Beautiful day.
Still snow in the hills.... temps between 40 and 50. Sun all day, not a cloud in the sky. I saw maybe 50 convertibles, not one top down, kinda sad..
Glad to see you guys got your ragtops have fun.
Andy
Well, after 4 1/2 hours, that's what you get for buying out if state, we left our friends at Patricks Mini in Schaumburg. Just a great, great experience. Our final deal was better than Maria's original offer which I had thought was fabulous. That was also with $500 more in extras and the custom red stripes.
No top down gone, as we had rain for our drive to Galena. All is just fantastic, drive great and looks even better. Got to the motel and checked in. A Mellow Yellow Mini parked right next Lil Raggi. Now I'm tired, hot tub time.
