I had a nice tour up the coast road from Hampton to Portsmouth this morning - later than my usual as I missed the sunrise.

Just as well, because the last three days of weather has beaten that rocky coast to rubble and swept it across the road in many places. That first northbound pass in the pre-dawn greyness might have been hazardous to my health.

The seas had fallen from 20' to a mere 10' and the likelihood of a wave dropping a twenty pound boulder onto my hood was remote - but that would have not been the case at all yesterday.

The crew that defends that road surely know what they are doing, else it would not have been passable at all.

Cheers,

Charlie

How many miles do you have on your car to be able to get that many hours in? 500 hours in a year is equivalent to two hours a day, every day Monday to Friday. At an average of 30mph that's 15,000 miles top-down alone.

Well, when I get my roadster, we will have Massachusetts covered...

Spiney= East

Zulu= West

JoNack= Central

We should intersect at some point!

Almost 27k today after rally.
Yes you are correct sort of, Peanut is my daily and my round trip commute is 108 miles just about 6 days a week just that my average is a bit more than 30 mph. I travel a major highway off hours for most of the trip.

That's even more impressive! If your average is higher then you need way more miles to get the same number of hours in. If you are averaging 50mph then your commute is about 1 hour each way, so you need 500 one-way top-down trips in a year to get to your goal. If you work six days a week then you have about 300 total work days, so 600 total potential trips in a year. That's about five out of every six trips to or from work top-down to get to your goal by commuting alone!

I only have a half-hour each way commute five days a week, so I can't get to 500 hours of commuting, even if I went home for lunch every day...
