How do you get four wheels in/on a Roadster?
I thought you guys might like to see the Yurpeen way to transport four winter wheels/tyres in a Roadster - one in the passenger seat, one and a half in the boot/trunk and one on the Mini bicycle rack (which I think you don't get offered in the US - it's a BMW part that bolts to each of two tow hook mounts):
I never even thought of getting them delivered! I'm sure they would have done it, but the fitters in the tyre shop were having too much fun watching me load up the car, videoing it on their phones, etc....
The Mini bike carrier requires that the car is built with a 'bike rack preparation' option that provides a second rear towing eye socket, a different rear bumper with two towing eye holes and a swing-down trailer light socket under the rear floor - decent value for about $100, but the rack itself is around $500 and you still then have to pay for an hour or two's coding so the rear lights work. Luckily I got cheaply one of the many bike racks that Mini sent out to dealers for the Convertible launch - and I haven't yet bothered to have the lights coded
So the bike rack can't be added unless the car was built that way - well, it can be, but the cost would be about the same as buying 10 bikes and leaving one of them in all the places you might want a bike....

I used to carry my winter wheels to the tyre shop and bring the summer ones home inside my old R56, with the seats folded and the hatch closed. Now I have the Roadster I'll need to have my wife following me in the Clubman with the other wheels this year. Luckily it's only a couple of miles away...
