On their build site it states 189...If you want the JCW, buy the JCW is what I would do...

Me too, I just checked with Morristown Mini and their parts department and they list 189 hp and up to 200 ft. lbs on over boost. Alot of money for 18 hp let alone only 8 hp, but the torque increase would be nice, and that's what you use on the street anyhow. Anyway, like I said before if you add the JCW tuning kit, then maybe the Brembo Brakes, you aren't far away from the full Factory JCW which includes some other niceties in the JCW. It is nice that they add the JCW Package with the aero kit, wheels, but only in silver and the seats, but you don't get the nice gray gauges, which I like on mine, just wish that I had the aero package though. Not offered in early 2011.

Hi...my first post. How do you like the S with JCW tune at this point (I assume you're past break-in)? I'm looking into this, but also considering an Evolve tune, if the Evolve tune matches properly with the S. Warranty is also a consideration.

My car is set to arrive in a few weeks (went into production last Tuesday), so I have a little time. I'm currently driving a 2010 M3, so I'm interested in squeezig as much power from the N18 motor as I can without creating other issues with the car.

Thoughts are appreciated.

So I have around 2,200 miles on the roadster now. I like the tuning kit, the roadster just has so much pull. I know why the JCW comes with the upgraded brakes. The exhaust sounds Great. I have lost a couple of mpg if I play real hard. Over all I like the gains. Just seat of the pants, I have no Dino numbers.

Would I buy the kit again? If the aftermarket doesn't have a hand tuner then yes. Plus you still have the peace of mind with the warranty.

Now something to think about for the money spent on the tuning kit you could buy a second ECU and send that off and have it tuned. Then you have the stock one to put back in when you take it for service. But you wouldn't get the new headers and exhaust.

Thanks for the reply; I'm heading to the dealer tomorrow to pick out my seats, I'll talk with him about the tune. I've also sent an email to an aftermarket group to get their thoughts.

My Dealer is now telling me that the price for the JCW kit in now $2600.00 it went up $500.00 for a 2013 Roadster S. He said Miniusa has just not updated the Website.
Has anyone else Heard this?
If it went up so much I wonder if they added anything else to the Kit to justify the increase in cost.

Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't Morris Town MINI offer fairly big discount on MINI parts? It has been a while but I beleive that is where I bought mine from and it shipped to Cincinnati MINI wo installed it. I think the discount was 20%. They are a sponsor on N.A.M. so check them out in the vendor section.

I wish Craven had not given up on cracking the N18 engine for the Access Port. That was an incredible mod on my R56. It put the Tuning kit to shame.

The other option is to add a Spint Booster for about 300 dollars. It doesn't increase HP but remaps the gas pedal to thin you are pressing it further down than you are. I put one on my Crossfire which was a little sluggishe at low RPM's and it really made a big difference. I never tried one on a MINI but they are pretty highly rated. Way at Way Motor Works was at MINIs on the Dragon in 2011 and was letting people try them out to see the difference. Think "Sport Button" on steroids.

Yes that is now the MRSP, but you can haggle . I think the only difference is the header with the new kit.
