Has anyone tried removing the original stripes off their car. What method did you use and how bad is the paint difference in colorization. Are you able to buff it out?
I used steam .... some form of heat helps loosen the glue just don't use TOO MUCH . . .
How much color fade (ghosting) you get varies by color and how much time your car spent in the sun (garaged). Ours is eclipse gray and there was some after just a few years b4 I removed the striped but the car DID sit outside on a dealer lot for a full year in Florida b4
after
Remember the paint is clear over the color base coat. You can buff 'til the cows come home and you won't touch the color unless you remove all the clear; which you DO NOT want to do. You can buff the clear to remove surface oxidation but that's all . . . this may result in some improvement but if there is actual color change . . . .

+1. A hair dryer works well too. That's what I used.
Scroll down to the bottom of the thread below. I installed boot stripes and replaced bonnet stripes using this method several years ago. The same method applies all around. https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ictures-5.html
