R58 B pillar cover

B pillar cover
Looking to remove the B pillar trim in my (hers actually) R58.
am I correct in saying it has to split down the joint line? So I assume that part of it get left in place over the rear windows still?
PS it’s all coming out to get the panel below out so I can sound deaden around the arches
