Brake question

I was upgrading the brake lines and doing some other work and the reservoir ran dry. So I’ve bled the brakes manually but don’t seem to have the stiff pedal I had before. If I understand correctly, I need to activate ABS to thoroughly bleed. I only have the Carly app and there is no option I can find to do this. Will the following tool allow me to activate ABS while bleeding my R58?

You should be able to manually bleed it without activating the ABS. We never have to in the shop. But sometimes it does take some pumping to get it done.

Hello, yes the schwaben tool will pulsate the ABS to bleed the system. Among many other uses.

Most of the time you don't have to do this unless you have replaced the ABS itself or opened a line up on or near it. I have done many brake bleeds on the MINIs and using the brake bleeder tool ( schwaben or Motive) and new fluid and you are gtg.

ECS - I purchased the tool and found the test to activate the pump but I receive a message that the ECU rejected the test. Any ideas on how to solve that problem?

Not on that one, I have seen it work. Did you update the tool online first?
