I been looking at rims for my Coupe and have seen a few 18" rims that have caught my eye's. I just don't know if the 18" rim will cause damage or rub in the wheel well's. The 18" rims do fit other Mini's. Has anyone put rims 2 sizes bigger on their Coupe?

 

It should be fine with the right tires (assuming same offset as the OEM wheels).

 

205/40-18 or 225/35-18 tires?
from what I've been reading the 205/40-18 is equivalent to the OEM rime and tires

 

Check out Blue Toys thread in the R59 section. He's had at least three different wheel and tire combo's. All have been 18 inch.

 

The R58 is the same as an R56 waist down. If the wheels fit an R56, it will fit an R58.

Give us some more info on the wheels you are considering. (offset, width, etc)

 

I have 18x7.5 wheels on my JCW Coupe with 215/40-18 tires. Suspension is lowered on NM Springs, Koni yellows, H-Sport 25mm Competition Bar and Hotchkins Control arms. I had slight rubbing in the rear with 2 people and luggage going to the Dragon last year but it self cleared and has never rubbed since. I had the same set-up on my '09 JCW and no rubbing issues there either.
