the one that attaches to the hatch, once side broke, grr, is this common? warranty or just get a new one?

YES. That exact thing broke on mine and one on the side. It is going in Saturday for this and I hope they cover it under warranty. I didn't know they were broken and did not personally break them. I keeps it clean.

I have crazy rattling, went to check it out and found the broken clips. This is a $139 piece.

 

They are rather flimsy and cheaply made...One place they cut costs for sure.

 

I think its a horrible design that just asks for rattles. I surrounded the openings with felt tape and wrapped the pegs that attach on the side with felt tape.
