ordering a 2013 coupe s

I am going to order a new 2013 coupe S. What is the normal discount off MSRP?
On the other hand, can I cancel the order if I change my mind when the car arrived? Or can I negotiate AGAIN once the car arrive to the dealership?

It all depends on your dealership. I have heard of people refusing delivery and getting their deposit back. I am such a MINI fanatic that I can't imagine looking forward to getting the car and then refusing it (I wouldn't count on renegotiating after delivery.)

You should be able to negotiate a nice amount off MSRP being in Northern CA. Just go through carsdirect.com and see the discount. I got apporx $1500 off MSRP by going through a car buying service for Northern CA. I ended up buying locally though when the local dealership here in WA matched the discount. My car arrives friday!

What is the MSRP of your built mini? $1500 off MSRP is how many % discount of your order?

Thanks

i think it depends on variety of factors.
sales guy you are dealing with, how big/small the dealer is (how many cars they carry, how many slots they have for build etc), what part of the month etc.
i've heard folks (including close friends) getting around $500 to even $1500 off on S model.

perrsonally, when i ordered mine to be built the sales guy basically refused to take anything off because he said they only had one slot for JCW and wasn't going to give any discount on that one slot.
he did, however, offer discount if i was going to choose a vehicle from the lot already built.

there were 3 dealers close to where i lived and i personally called all of them (after i placed the order) to see if i can get something off but all other dealers also basically said NO to discount on JCW model on coupe.

regardless, i'd still shop around, give calls, and see what you can get.
good luck!

East Bay Mini was going to give me my killer deal on a Mini Cooper S Coupe or JCW Coupe. They have no dealer markup and are on the carsdirect.com dealership network. Bypass emailing all the dealerships....IMO, a waste of time. Configure your car on carsdirect.com and see the savings.

Yes, I already email every dealership in northern california. I found there are few 2012 coupe JCW left and they are giving a hugh discount however, the cars have few hundred miles on them already (rape mileage) I don't think I will go for 2012 JCW.
So far, the best deal I received is $1.8K off MSRP S model order. I think I can do better if I pick the car in their lot if I find something close to what I need. Also Mini has 3yr / 0.9% finance.

Both dealers here in New Mexico are offering huge amounts off their 2012 cars. One of them had a 2012 JCW Coupe for about $3k off sticker which was close to invoice. It's gone now though... :(

i agree.
if you aren't going to get those 2012 models, take your time and shop for deals.
probably it's the fun part of the whole experience. (picking/deciding, ordering, waiting for shipping).
also realize that 2012 JCW and 2013 JCW come with different engine. (in case you were still looking into those 2012 JCWs)

try to enjoy the whole process

also remember that placing an order to be built (with your specific specs), you still are not forced into buying that car. even the deductible you pay ahead, you can receive back if you decide not to pick up that car.

personally, do your research diligently but just be happy with your end results in my opinion. $500 probably just don't justify getting stressed out and stop you from getting your own MINI
