Do you mean 500/7700 total production or just for the 2012 production year?

 

Just for each year total on average, so across all chassis that are factory JCWs, thats what they told me.

 

So, it should be about 2000 for the 4 year production run. It may explain why you said you have seen so many. I always thought they were rare because of the $7K premium over the MCS model.

 

I don't care how it sold....I bought what appears to be a "rare" item. Irrelevant to that - the thing is a riot to drive, and the exclusivity factor is great. I have had tons of people ask what it is, is it the "new" Mini, and the omnipresent "does the top come off" question. The thing is a HOOT to drive - that's pretty much all I need. Of course, I also drove a brand new 1984 Fiero - must be ugly duckling syndrome....or retardation.

I think what he meant is that only 500 factory JCW cars of all models come to the US/year (seems low to me though). So during the Coupe production years (2012-2015) just a small fraction of those 2,000 total JCW cars were Coupes. Only about 2,500 Coupes/year were sold in the US for those 4 years (total 10k Coupes).

 

Dare we say it.. "UNICORN" future MINI imo.. tons of MINI owners i speak to always say its a unique model and how they regret not getting one new..

 

I love mine- not a cookie cutter vehicle in any way / shape / form. This one is the 4th I've owned (06 / 09 / 14 / this one). 1st S model. LOADS difference in performance. There has not been one gas stop that I haven't had kudos or questions. Love being different
