Moutain Bike In/On Coupe, Any Ideas?

Has anyone has any luck fitting bikes in or on a Coupe?

I've had no luck even nearly fitting it inside, but I think a Saris Bones 3 might fit on the outside and be clear of the spoiler. Any better ideas out there?

Have a 1 1/4 inch hitch mounted under the rear bumper and get a Thule bike rack.

The hitch will ugly-up the appearance a bit but it's the best option, IMO.

barely

I got my mountain bike into the coupe by taking the wheels off and loosening one of the handlebar ends. The frame fits in on top of the wheels with the handlebars over the passenger seatback area. Turning the end of the handlebar stub to clear the hatch glass is all I had to do, one small allen wrench twist. It's a Cannondale hardtail, so it might be a little smaller than some other full-suspension bikes out there.

Good luck!

Maybe I just need to work harder on my bike-origami! Thanks for the advice I'll have another go tomorrow.

I had another go at the coupe bike interface, following bruceink's advice I took both shelves out, put wheels on the bottom and the frame diagonally across the boot with the forks facing the front, a 20 inch frame (no suspension) fitted in with room to spare.

Now for a new bike and some roadtrips!
