Does the strut brace hit the hood insulation? I had to remove the NM engineering strut brace because it hit the insulation

I have the JCW brace and the insulation does not contact it. This is a great add-on. Quieter. Cooler hood.

 

Yep. Doesn't contact it. The JCW brace is fairly flat. After a 2 hr commute my hood is cool to the touch. Quieter as well. I agree it was money well spent.

 

Did you leave open the Hood Scoop ventilation holes with the hood insulation?
I looked at a factory install at my local dealership and the vent holes were open.

 

Do you leave the Hood Scoop Holes open with the hood insulation installed?

 

It makes no difference because the insulation blanket covers the scoop on the inside of bonnet.

 

I am a new owner of a 2012 MCS, and a new member. I have attemted to look up the part # on the ECS web site to confirm this is correct for my model year. It is not possible as I cant get past the "select your vehicle" drop down. It only has 2 body type choices, covertable and coupe. So your website is inaccessible. Please advise.

Need to go to the "Cooper Coupe'" for 2012. There is a split year in 3/2012, I believe both are the same , just one has the extra heat sink on the front , more of a production thing from MINI.

Great, thanks for the reply. My car was built 2/2012 so the one without the extra heat shield is correct for me. I would have to add some high temp shielding to prevent the turbo heat from burning a hole through it.

 

I think you can just get the newer one if you are worried about that, there was one guy that had issues but I dont know if it was due to not being clipped in all the way and hanging down or something else. Other then that have not heard any other issues.

Yes. Enter the address and select the shipping option, I believe USPS is the main carrier for APO.
