I'm awaiting the arrival of my coupe s. I'm looking to put a remote start into my coupe s once it arrives from overseas. Does anybody have a remote start in it currently? If so, what model? Specifically, if you happen to be in NJ, where you get it installed at?

I had the remote start uninstalled from my previous car to be put in the mini. It was purchased at Best Buy but because the mini is too new they don't know how to install it and they typically don't install anything into minis to begin with.

 

Hi Princess- did yo ever get something for a remote start? I just got a coupe and did not realize that was not an option. I have been driving Cadillacs and it just seemed like every car would have that

It seems like there is difference of opinion about using a remote start and idle warm ups; but without heated seats and living in northern Ohio, I am not a huge fan of the start the car and go in mid-February.

 

I had a remote start in my old '03 MCS, and it was a challenge. I think the only reason it got done is because my friend worked at the shop and pulled some strings. The combo of a manual transmission and the key with a chip in it apparently made the install very difficult. After we finally got it going, it worked great- but it wasn't easy. I'm not even going to try with my new car, as it's a lease. Good luck! I definitely loved having it.
