That is because Pat's came through South America and spent to much time in the Panama Canal.

Just one small problem. The Panama Canal is in North America.

More likely the driver didn't want to damage their prized car and wasn't driving flat out. I will say though that seeing first hand, GT500's at the tack being driven flat out, only last a few laps before their brakes are on fire.....

....or their skills were lacking. Danica Patrick could probably drive a Prius and lap anyone on this board (and look better too).

I have had 2 Shelby gt500's a 2007 and 2010, and a 2006 supercharged Saleen. Of course they r faster but the sensation of driving a mini is totally different. Hard to admit it but I have more fun driving the mini than the stang. They are quick, zippy in traffic and just a blast. I commute 40 miles each way in my mini and would not drive any other car. Get the roadster (jcw) with the top down on a nice day it is amazing!

You won't miss the mustang at all. I had got rid of my 03 Sonic Blue Cobra to get my MINI....the Cobra had 486rwhp/487rwtq at it's last Dyno, and I never missed it. Wife even had an 06 GT while we were first married and she got rid of it for an 09 MCS...and she's never looked back.

You'll love it.....I'm on the waiting list to custom a JCW Roadster....can't wait!
