Looks like the Countryman is killing off the Clubman.

I still haven't seen another Coupe on the road. A little surprising given the number of MINIs I see around DC.

Looks like the Coupe has peaked already. I guess that's probably a good thing for you Coupe owners, as the parts will never be a problem with all of the other lines still around, but it will give you some exclusivity.

I'm surprised at the huge dropoff in the convertible.

To me it's sad to see the Countryman doing so well. It will likely point BMW down the road of more "Americanizing" of the MINI brand to fatter, larger, heaver and taller cars (which is already the BMW way). May have to change the name to MAXI.

The Coup's looks while unique (not my cup of tea) are just to polarizing and not to well received by the press (and seems the public too according to the numbers).

Hopefully the Roadster will become a hit and so far the reviews I've read are much more favorable.

I think the Coupe could be in the same position as the Cooper in the beginning. I remember hardly seeing any in 06 when I bought mine. I think the more people see them, the more they will pick up. There just isn't enough on the road.

Good to know there is a little over 1,000 on the road. Just makes them all the more special.

Saw my first and only coupe on the road last week in suburban Philadelphia.....all black with red stripes.

I have only seen 1 in the 3 months I have been driving mine. I still get looks and lots of questions.

It's nice having a unique car.

Haha, I've gotten that one a couple times and at least once by a guy who should know better. I'm with Pat. I don't mind at all having a car that's unique. Both the looks and the scarcity are just fine by me. I've only seen two other Coupe's on the road and they were both dealer cars.

On that note, I was out of town driving through WV and stopped at a gas station off the interstate when a beat up old pickup pulled in behind me. We were the only two vehicles there. Three guys poured out of the truck looking dead up like ZZ Top pipe fitters. They asked tons of questions and loved the car. Go figure.

Journo's seem to dislike the looks but every person I've talked to like them. I suspect the main reason for scarcity of sightings is the fact that it's a Coupe. MINI 4 seaters are selling like hotcakes but it's hard to justify a two seater if you have a family. I bet there are people who'd love to buy the Coupe but end up with a Countryman, etc. instead. The Roadster will likely do better due to the novelty of being a convertible.

That's why I'm glad I've got a Coupe. I'll let everyone else have their ragtops - I prefer a solid roof, personally. And exclusivity, of course!

Glad to hear MINI is doing well. A little sad to see that the Countryman seems to be cutting into the Clubman market. Guess it doesn't surprise me, the CM is what I went to the MINI dealer to buy, but the Clubbie just seemd a little more funky to me, and was more fun to drive.

I like the looks of the Coupe but won't give up my sunroof. My wife and I will contribute one Clubman sale this month as ours is currently on the Toronto due in NJ on 2/16.

Nice pick up February to March.
8.7 per day in Feb to 10.8 per day in March.

They need to keep those sales down. Don't want too many people driving these now.

Question, what classifies a "sale". Like, I put in my order for a Roadster that got done being produced and arrived stateside on 3/31....but I'm not picking it up until hopefully this weekend. Is it in the March numbers? I ask because logic would tell me that it doesn't count til someone buys it off the lot. BUT, they counted the first 110 Roadsters they sent to all the dealers in the February numbers....and they weren't all sold right off the bad.....

Anyone know?

No, a sale is when the title (ownership) is transferred from MINI. All you have done is paid a "good faith" deposit but you don't own the car and could back out at any time.

That's what I figured, but it doesn't explain the roadster launch cars. Each dealer got one, and I know one dealership that didn't sell their launch car until the 5th of March......yet they were listed in the February sales Odd.......

Low sales numbers I like that.
Guess I better park mine.

Does anyone really think this car will be collector car someday?
