Ah, arguing on the internet...

Anyway, PatM, if you do put your SP10s on soon please snap some pictures. I'd love to see them. Those are on my list for my Coupe. I want to replace my stockers, not spend to much, and reduce my weight as much as possible. Plus I think they look pretty nice.

I have them on the car now just to test them out. I had to buy new TPMS sensors. Installed yesterday. They work perfect. I'll try to get a pic today and post up. I think they look pretty good though I prefer the stock wheels. The stock wheels and summer tires will go back on in a week or so. These are actually my winter whelks but I had to test em. :-)

Thanks, Pat. I tried to order the Challenge Spoke with my car but they were on hold. I love the way those look. I ended up doing to Conical Spoke which are OK but I don't like them that much. I may keep them for a while but if I do change I definitely want to go lightweight.

On my last car I went from ~23lb stock 17s to wheels that are 15.2 lbs each and the change was very noticeable.

Can't wait to see the pics PatM! I'm sure they look great.

Funny that I started this thread yet I'm still waiting to buy some aftermarkets. I've put so much into the car elsewhere that I keep putting this off.......but I'm getting closer.

Well, I actually did JUST get a set of Kosei rims, with Continental ExtremeContact DWS summer tires. I opted for the sacrilegious 16" size, because 17s are really uncomfortable, and I have a cabrio. I plus sized them however...to 205/50s, and they are fantastic. Great summer tire, quiet, and supple feeling. They almost feel like Michelins to me, they ride that well, but give up nothing in performance.

The Koseis I bought also weigh an astonishing 12.8 lbs (!) so my performance has increased exponentially. The original mini-lites weigh an ungodly 25lbs, so the difference is really substantial.

Yea I'm cool and know what a cabrio is but I had to hassle ya.

But unless you post a pic it's only in your imagination.

Pat, your Coupe is gorgeous. Did you tint already, or is it just the way the light is hitting it?

I had the car tinted right away. It looks even better in person.

Thanks for the props.

Looks perfect. I'm thinking my first two mods will be tint and NM RS Alpha springs.

I'm assuming you are referring to the tint John? The answer is no. I just went to a local shop that does the work for BMW and Mini. They did my last car and my wife's.

Here is a few shots of the Motegi's on the car. I am going to use these in the winter and the stock wheels and summer rubber for summer. I'll be changing them back after another week or so of testing these. I like the factory wheels better but these look real good as well. The show more of the Brembo brake calipers then the stock wheels and that's kind of cool.

For the price of this wheel you really can't go wrong. It's much lighter than the stock wheel. I'm not sure that I can really tell a difference between the two in acceleration. But I did notice my fuel economy went up 1 mpg. That could be because I kept my foot out of it.

Those are excellent Pat! Great choice. I have always liked the SP10's on hatchbacks and figured they'd be equally as nice on a Coupe. I was right, lol.

Yes you were. They are a very good choice.
It's been so dang cold around here lately I'm just going to leave em on for awhile until it warms up.

I can't wait for some warm weather to put the other wheels on with the summer tread. It makes a big difference in the handling of the car.

Great choices!!

Pat, is the finish on the Motegi's flat? It appears so in your pics and it's hard to really tell what the finish is on the Tirerack site. Other pics I've seen appear more satin but that may just be glare from the particular pics I've seen. I have no personal preference (gloss, satin, matte) as long as the wheels are black as coal!

Pat if you do alot of stop and go the lighter rims help get thing rolling. When I put my SP-10s on the 53 the mpg went up, alot less rotational weight with those rims and the DWS's. Thanks for the fit test now I just need to pick up sensors so I can run them on the coupe.
