Hello, I have a 2012 r57 and am experiencing a convertible issue where the sunroof opens, too retracts all the way down, but the final step of the top sliding forward to lock is not happening and I get the light on my dash (convertible with lock symbol) and a green flashing light on my convertible retract switch. I have checked the deck lid switch in the trunk and it is making good contact with the with the deck lid. Any ideas what would be causing this problem? Thank you

 

There are 2 switches. Upper left side boot hatch and under the left foot of the cargo shelf. The boot hatch switch has a short throw and may not be activating as was this issue on mine several years ago. I solved it with a felt furniture pad stuck to the boot hatch were it makes contact with the switch. Never a misfire since.

 

Thanks for the info, I don’t think it’s that because if I open the trunk I can’t get the roof past the sunroof stage. If I close the trunk, top goes all the way down except for that last part, which I believe is the sunroof slides forward a couple of inches

 

Ok I’m an idiot, there was an obstruction on the LH locking mechanism. Removed, closes fine now
